Electro / Mechanical Supervisor Technician (SRE)

Job Description

  • Electro / Mechanical Supervisor Technician for work in the Transportation supply field; specifically Train Overhaul and Upgrade

Job Responsibilities

  1. Equipment removal and disassembly teardown, interim preparation of cars for new overhaul and upgrade Production equipment re-installation
    • Major sub systems black box control equipment removal / replacement
    • Interior / exterior teardown; gangways, windows, doors, seats, stanchions, lighting, paneling, flooring, ceilings, ducting, insulation and misc fixtures & fittings
    • Electrics: Cabling, cable lugging, train line wiring, cable harness, crimping installation & termination
    • Pneumatics: Piping and fittings removal, rework and installation
  2. Equipment rectification / modification program works
  3. Operation of workshop heavy fixed facility and / or mobile equipment
  4. Preparation of work order data input and sign off on Production control documentation for information database

Requirements

  1. (Knowledge, Skills, Attitude) Functional comprehension of electrical & mechanical engineering drawings, electrical and piping schematics, manuals and Production work instruction documents to support electrical, mechanical, electronic and pneumatic disassembly and re-installation of transit vehicle equipment
  2. Prior railroad or transportation rolling stock manufacturing and / or maintenance experience is desirable and an advantage
  3. Diploma or Technical Certification is an advantage but not necessarily a pre-requisite
  4. Must be flexible to accommodate shift flexibility, overtime, shift work and / or weekend duties as required to meet schedule deadlines

Production and Test Engineer (Railise)

About Railise

  • Railise Pte. Ltd is a joint venture company set up by Singapore Rail Engineering Pte. Ltd (SRE), a wholly owned subsidiary of SMRT Corporation Ltd, and Toshiba Corporation. Railise Pte. Ltd will market and supply propulsion systems using Toshiba’s Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) technology to mass transit operators in global markets (excl. Japan). In addition, Railise will provide integration services allowing the new traction system to seamlessly work together with the other components of the train. Railise will also be involved in the supply and integration of the PMSM to SMRT’s C651 and C151 fleet of trains.

Department Introduction

  • The C651 project will provide the first task to be accomplished. The production of the first train will commence middle of March 2016. The first train is a prototype which means that product deliveries and logistic needs to be adjusted accordingly. The production engineer ensures the best coordination of need and availability of material in terms of causing no delays and minimise local storage. During the summer months of 2016 the commissioning and type testing will commence.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Overseeing logistics and manufacturing at Toshiba in Japan
  2. Ensuring on-time delivery to end customer for final assembly
  3. Optimizing assembly process together with the customer to achieve the best work flow
  4. Planning and leading Test & Commissioning of the traction system in together with the difference stakeholders
  5. Supporting Toshiba’s engineers in planning, developing and communication of test procedures and documentation
  6. Coordinating and booking of test equipment, test object, resources and infrastructure
  7. Ensure that Health and Safety standards are maintained and promote zero accidents

Field Services Engineer (FRES)

Job Description

  • The key aim of the role is to provide technical support for the OE and CS Contracts available in the geographical area in order to fix common problem.

Main Missions

  1. Investigate and report on failed/defective components and complaints made by customers, be able to do failure analysis (at least first level required) on all Faiveley products available on the Customer site or in a specific geographical area.
  2. Repair and report on failed/defective basic components and complaints made by customers on all Faiveley products available on the Customer site or in a specific geographical area.
  3. Be the interface of customer on the field.
  4. Be the interface with Faiveley department (Quality, Project, Field Services) in order to report failure, quality issues, observations detected on the field.
  5. Be the interface with Faiveley experts for investigation, troubleshooting.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Able to troubleshoot, diagnose and fix technical problem in the field including software issues using advanced diagnostic tools (computer, gauge..)
  2. Able to report correct technical data to a Product Specialist or a expert from our Center of Competence in order to go in depth on specific issues.
  3. Organize and supervise the day to day provision of installation and servicing support for FT products including test, analysis, presentation techniques and other necessary skills to achieve product introduction, commissioning and “In Service” support throughout the equipment’s life.
  4. Able to lead, organize, manage the implementation of all kind of field operations (FMI, Overhaul, Maintenance…) with local partner and be able to schedule short term workload.

Method and Process Engineer (FRES)

Main Missions

  1. Build, manage and improve process on a continuous improvement basis.
  2. Optimize the process in order to improve Quality, Cost, and Deliveries together with Efficiency and operational ratio..
  3. Manage the Product data structure of the Production Unit within the ERP: Bill of material and Routings.

Job Responsibilities

Organization:

  1. Ensure respect of Engineering and Process Change Request procedures.
  2. Manage within the ERP the Bill of Material, Routings and Items.
  3. Ensure respect of all FRES Item, Routing and Bill of Material rules creation.
  4. Define, set up and validate any special manufacturing/maintenance/overhaul tooling / jig /test bench requirements
  5. Prepare and update written Work Instruction, process control documents, detailing the system’s installation/repair/overhaul sequence, duration and specific work implementation instructions,  specifying correct tools [ as required ] for shop technician / fitter personnel to follow
  6. Review, approve and issue production derogation / deviation requests and capture for future production.  Issue mod document and validate accordingly
  7. Validate the Work Instruction document content by physically participating and overseeing to assess installation times, assess labor skill sets and  ‘red line’ Work Instruction documents via the prototype and pre-production train works; thus supporting optimization of Production workflow sequence and duration timeframes
  8. Provide training and guidance to FRES Production staff.

  • Improve the reduction of the standard time of product in order to achieve the Company Budget

Supply Chain and Purchasing Manager (FRES)

Missions

  1. The Supply Chain Manager ensures the Customer Delivery Satisfaction while optimizing Inventory levels and Transport Costs
  2. Guarantee Purchasing Performance in Projects, plant CM and improve the company working capital
  3. Ensures the on-time deliveries from suppliers while optimizing Raw Material and Components Inventory Coverage
  4. Purchase according to the strategy defined at Activity level, in particular by Global Commodity Lead Buyer, to increase profitability and drive the improvement of the sourced goods and services cost to sales ratio.
  5. Lead the purchasing strategy for local commodities.
  6. For ‘Services’, contribute to the construction of the strategy to better serve Service’s needs (field services, overhauling and spare parts) and deploy it.
  7. Manage the supplier base in order to obtain the necessary improvements to achieve the above and protect the company against potential unfavorable market trends.

Reach PPM targets, recover COPQ cost from suppliers, qualify suppliers accordingly to the Activity needs, guarantee that the engineering processes allow suppliers to meet the targets (soundeness of the specification, design freeze, control plan for each part).
  8. Define a local strategy to answer “FT Services” specific needs for field services, overhauling and spare parts.
  9. Guaranty for spare parts goods performance (PPI, quality, time to quote and leadtimes)
  10. Guaranty the absence of supplier private label.
  11. Guarantee that group purchasing methods, rules, processes and tools are used in the Plant
